The fast train from Zürich to Thalwil takes a tunnel. It used to go by the lake with a wonderful view into the mountains. Today I was able to enjoy that wonderful view again. I started in Rüschlikon – a village I usually don’t see because of the tunnel.
My walk took me through an area of older and newer one-family-houses (as we call them) with nice gardens or high hedges. Because I knew from last time that it might be a little boring, I was heading for the woods. After almost an hour I finally reached it and there was more than just blackbirds an sparrows: I heard jays and wood pigeons and tits. The sun shone on the flowers on the edge of the woods and bumblebees, bees and butterflies plunged into the blossoms.
The highway is realy close but I only heard it in that stretch of wood that is close by. With all the nice things I saw today it took me a little longer. After three hours an almost 8 kilometers I’ve missed the train in Horgen Oberdorf to Zug by half a minute.
